Sand Gravel Pump

A sand gravel pump is a horizontal, single-stage centrifugal pump specifically designed for conveying large particles and highly abrasive solid-liquid mixtures. It overcomes the limitations of conventional slurry pumps, being specifically designed to handle harsh media with excessively large particle sizes and extremely high hardness. It is an indispensable core conveying equipment in dredging, mining, and heavy industry.

Project Highlights

  • Wide Flow Channel, Superior Passability: Utilizing a horizontal, single-casing structure, the internal flow channel is extremely wide, enabling continuous conveying of large particles and highly abrasive materials that conventional slurry pumps cannot handle, effectively preventing blockages.
  • High-Hardness Wear-Resistant Materials: Flow components (impeller, pump casing, etc.) are made of high-chromium alloy, hard nickel, and other high-hardness wear-resistant alloy cast iron, possessing excellent anti-corrosion properties and greatly extending the service life of the equipment under harsh working conditions.

  • Flexible Installation and Convenient Maintenance: The pump body and pump cover are connected using special clamps (clamps), allowing for 360-degree rotational installation in any position at the discharge port, perfectly adapting to complex site spaces. The cylindrical bearing assembly allows for complete removal, facilitating quick adjustment of impeller clearance and routine maintenance.
  • Excellent cavitation resistance: Scientific fluid dynamics design endows this pump with extremely low required net positive suction head (NPSHr) and excellent cavitation performance, ensuring efficient and stable operation even under complex suction head conditions.
  • Diverse drive and sealing configurations: Drive options include V-belts, flexible couplings, gearboxes, and frequency converters, ensuring the pump is always operating at its optimal condition. Shaft seals can be selected from packing seals, auxiliary impeller seals, or mechanical seals to meet leakage prevention requirements under different operating conditions.

Typical Application Scenarios

With its powerful conveying capacity, the gravel pump is widely used in the following demanding scenarios:

  • Dredging and reclamation projects: Dredging, river, lake, and port dredging, gravel suction, and coastal reclamation.
  • Mining and metallurgy: Conveying large-particle slurry in mining operations, and conveying blast furnace slag and explosive slag in metal smelting processes.
  • Water Conservancy and Infrastructure: River sand mining, silt removal and mud treatment for large-scale engineering construction.
